Job Summary:
This position will perform secretarial duties using specific knowledge of medical terminology and hospital, clinic, or laboratory procedures. Duties will include patient care, compiling and recording medical charts, reports, and correspondence.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Assist with injections
· Compiles and records medical charts, reports, and correspondence using a computer and various software programs. Transmits correspondence and medical records by mail, email, or fax.
· Face to face interaction with patients for rooming and vital signs
· Schedules and confirms patient diagnostic appointments, surgeries, and medical consultations.
· Operates office equipment such as voicemail messaging systems, and uses word processing, spreadsheet, and other software to prepare reports, invoices, financial statements, letters, case histories, and medical records
Requirements:
· 1 year or more as Medical Assistant
Must Have Qualifications:
· Patient care experience (such as taking vital signs)
· Working knowledge of medical terminology
· Excellent verbal and written skills
· Conscientious telephone etiquette
· Experience with computers, Microsoft Office, and the aptitude to learn new software
Education:
· High School diploma or equivalent (required)
