Position: Systems Engineer
Description:
Seeking a Systems Engineer SME to support the critical infrastructure of a large complex government division with a mission to equip law enforcement, national security, and intelligence community partners with criminal justice information. The Systems Engineer SME will provide expert level solutioning and engineering support across the enterprise infrastructure. Responsibilities include applying TCP/IP routing and switching principles to practical solutions, configuring LAN/WAN design and topology, installing and maintaining WAN hardware, managing wiring closets and nomenclature, managing Cisco and other hardware including consumer-grade routers and switches, monitoring with standard network management and packet analysis tools, planning, implementing, and administering perimeter security and firewalling, performing multi-level troubleshooting and root-cause problem solving, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading LAN infrastructure, and evaluating new technologies and making design recommendations for a more efficient and cost-effective network infrastructure.
Requirements: Current Top-Secret clearance required. 2 to 5 years of experience with firewall configuration and load balancing. Expert level troubleshooting and root-cause problem solving. Agile experience using Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP), Kanban, and SAFe. Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Enterprise Infrastructure strongly preferred. Expert knowledge of TCP/IP, User Datagram Protocol (UDP), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), and Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP). Understand all aspects of Virtual Private Network (VPN) design and configurations. IP troubleshooting and connectivity issue resolution. Understand network protocols including TCP/IP and related technologies.
