Job Summary:
The Ashore Network Engineer (ONE-NET) will provide Tier IV (concurrently maintainable site infrastructure) and IV (fault tolerant site infrastructure) technical support to both Fleet and SPAWAR Enterprise customers in support of ONE-NET networks and applications as requested by the government. The Ashore Network Engineer will support the NCTSFE Yokosuka, Japan.
Salary Range- $115,000-$120,000
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Provide engineering services to support the ONE-NET Request For Change (RFC) process (in support of speed to capability for Navy networks).
- ONE-NET speed to capability efforts will be as directed by FRD in support of Fleet and SPAWAR Enterprise objectives.
- Provide on-site ashore engineering subject matter expertise in support of ONE-NET services at overseas locations and at CONUS SPAWAR activities.
- Provide engineering technical services to assist with system integration and site activation planning to include the formulation and tracking of delivery plans for equipment sub-systems to support ONE-NET requirements and it’s integration into Navy Next Generation Enterprise Networks (NGEN).
- Assist with installing and integrating ONE-NET systems to replace legacy networks.
- Provide SME services to assist with preparation and analysis of integration designs,
- implementation concepts and systems to include reviewing and assisting in the reduction of program risk per applicable risk management plans.
- Assist enterprise program offices and Fleet customers with the employment of technical solutions associated with the NGEN and ONE-NET “Deployable-Embarkable” project and concurrent safeguarding of approved Navy network security directives.
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), CISCO Adaptive Security Appliance and CISCO Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) administration.
- Six (6) years of direct experience with maintenance of Navy Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES).
- Experience with Remedy, Active Directory, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager
- Strong System Administrator Experience.
- Four (4) years of Tier III/IV network maintenance experience with Navy ship to shore networks or relevant DoD network architectures.
- Deployable to support Navy operational requirements, exercise support and other projects to meet the needs of the Navy.
- Classification of systems supported includes UNCLASSIFIED, CONFIDENTIAL, SECRET (to include CENTRIXS Coalition)
- Extensive knowledge with ONE- NET
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information System or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology.
- Six (6) years of direct experience with maintenance and sustainment of Navy afloat networks.
- Active Top Secret Clearance Required.
- Certification as IAT2 (per DoD Inst 8750.1 and Navy requirements) with appropriate IA certification required, and computing environment certification highly desired.
- Operating systems can include Cisco, Unix (Linux/Solaris), and/or Windows Server 2012/2016 and Win7/10.
- VMWare and working knowledge of storage technologies including NetApp and IBM storage highly desired.
