Senior System Administrator -Midlevel-- Fulltime --(H1B/OPT Accepted)

Location: Austin, TX (Remote)

Duration: Long Term

Experiance: 3-5

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior System Administrator to join our IT team. You will play a pivotal role in managing, maintaining, and optimizing our critical IT infrastructure to ensure smooth business operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain on-premises and/or cloud-based servers, operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.), and network devices.
  • Perform system administration tasks including user account management, security patching, system backups, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and troubleshoot hardware and software problems proactively.
  • Automate routine system administration tasks using scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash) for increased efficiency (Preferred).
  • Implement and enforce security best practices to safeguard systems and data from cyber threats.
  • Provide technical support to internal users and resolve their IT-related issues efficiently.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in operating systems, system administration tools, and security practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with other IT professionals and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of demonstrably successful experience as a System Administrator or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of system administration principles and best practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux administration.
  • Experience with network administration concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the evolving IT landscape.
