Encova Insurance has an immediate opening for a Senior Property Adjuster (Senior Property Resolution Specialist) for northeast Ohio territory. You must reside in the northeast Ohio area . The ideal candidate will reside in Cuyahoga County or the near vicinity and have significant experience with commercial property claims. You will work remotely from a home office and we will provide a vehicle for travel needed in the role. We can hire at multiple seniority levels depending on candidate qualifications. This role will report to the Manager, Property Claims. - The ideal work location for this position would be home-based near Cleveland, Ohio.
JOB OBJECTIVE: Investigate, evaluate, estimate and process property claims primarily requiring in-person contact and on-site inspections. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Primarily responsible for handling: - Personal and commercial property losses including structure, contents, ALE, scheduled property and business income losses requiring an on-site investigation
- Property coverage questions; and
- Property limited handled lawsuits including attending pre-trials, mediations, arbitrations or trial when required.
2. Inspect and write moderate to large property estimates using estimating guides and estimating software. 3. Assist in risk evaluation on homeowners and commercial businesses including verifying insurance to value, coinsurance penalties and documenting any change or increased hazard to the risk. 4. Assist inside property specialists with tasks assigned, such as, diagrams and photographs, statements in person or inspections of property. 5. Comply with Encovas' claims organization policies and procedures for contact and communication, verification of coverages, determination of liability, investigation of losses, determination of claims values, completion of forms, and reports and negotiation and settlement of claims. 6. Must be capable of investigating and closing a minimum average of 30 elements per month. 7. Assist in catastrophe claims handling throughout the company operating territory, requiring overnight travel or extended stays upon request. 8. Serve as a member of claims and other company integrated teams as assigned. 9. Model the leadership behaviors outlined in the Vision. OTHER FUNCTIONS: 1. Climb roofs and perform other field based inspections. 2. Obtain and maintain all applicable adjusters licensing. 3. Maintain open lines of communication with agents, sales representatives, marketing and underwriting personnel who are serviced by the regional resolution center. 4. Perform other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: This position requires prior experience as a Property Resolution Specialist or experience as a Encova Insurance inside property specialist or its equivalent in the industry. The internal candidate must have achieved an overall performance rating of at least “Developing” in the last two annual performance reviews. The candidate must demonstrate good judgment in making decisions, good communication skills, and excellent customer service skills. The candidate must have a thorough knowledge of Encovas' personal line policies and coverages, claims settlement techniques and current legal decisions affecting claims handling. The candidate should have a working knowledge of Encovas' commercial policies and coverages. A college degree or equivalent in insurance or business is required. Continuing insurance education is desired and may be obtained through IIA and/or CPCU or other accredited insurance education provider.
