Payroll Manager 

 

The Payroll Manager position at Lehigh County Authority (LCA) in Allentown, PA is a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of payroll functions within an organization that provides essential services to the community. It requires a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to maintaining compliance with payroll laws and regulations.

 

Job Essentials
Ensure Timely and Accurate Payroll Processing 
-    Responsible for processing payroll for a team of 181 employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness 
-    Double-check all payroll data, including timesheets and deductions

Compliance with Payroll Laws 
-    Stay updated with federal, state, and local payroll laws to ensure compliance in all payroll processes 

Handle Payroll Tax Returns 
-    Manage payroll tax returns such as W-2s and 1099s promptly and accurately

 

Customer Service 
-    Provide excellent customer service by addressing payroll-related inquiries from employees

 

Collaboration 
-    Work closely with HR and Accounting teams to streamline payroll processes and ensure accuracy 

 

Stay Informed 
-    Keep abreast of changes in payroll laws and communicate updates to relevant stakeholder 

 

ERP System Management 
-    Utilize the ERP system to enhance efficiency and accuracy in payroll processing 

 

What We’re Looking For 
Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required and Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP is strongly recognized and valued 

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration, demonstrating proficiency in payroll processes and compliance 

 

Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (intermediate to advanced level), and prior experience with ERP systems 

 

Soft Skills:
-    Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively 
-    Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
-    Collaborative and able to work effectively in a team environment 
-    Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities 
-    Capable of handling multiple tasks under pressure and meeting deadlines
