Oyster Bay Boutique Hotel is a small independent property offering a bespoke, luxury lodging experience. The property is both locally owned and curated. Oyster Bay exists to improve the quality of life for people who live in, work in, and visit the diverse community we serve.

The hotel front desk and concierge are responsible for providing quality and efficient guest services and hotel property management. To ensure guests of the hotel receive best-in-class service and cleanliness of the facility. The hotel front desk & concierge ensures that all guests have a positive experience at the hotel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating hotel PMS (Property Management Systems) to make reservations, answering the phone, and distributing email and chat messages as needed. 
  • Ensuring smooth check-in check-out process for arriving and departing guests.
  • Coordination and communication with guests in person and electronically.
  • Responsible for inspecting all guest rooms to hotel standard prior to check in and upon checkout.
  • Assist with luggage and other guest requests as needed. 
  • Perform laundry/housekeeping duties, as necessary. 
  • Perform event duties, as necessary.
  • Ensuring the hotel's common areas are always clean and organized to hotel standards. 
  • Adhering to safety standards. 
  • Responsible for inspecting equipment, décor and furnishing for damages after use, checking all against inventory and reporting to management anything that needs attention. 
  • Ensuring excellent levels of customer service for hotel guests. 
  • Undertaking security duties of the hotel and making sure all areas are secure and up to hotel standards.
  • Assist guests with requests and questions, as necessary. 
  • Respond to complaints and find the appropriate solution 
  • Assist in maintaining levels of cleaning products, toiletries, tableware, food/beverage and other hotel essentials as needed.
  • Restock all suites minibars, toiletries and other essentials as needed. 
  • Follow and complete shift checklists. 
  • Perform all other duties as requested or directed. 

Requirements

  • Professional attitude and appearance required at all times 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills 
  • Knowledge of hospitality environments 
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve 
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented with all guest services 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be me met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The key physical requirements of this position include the ability to walk and stand for an extended period of time, bending, stooping, and being able to lift up to 50 pounds. 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a  regular, part-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours will vary to include evening and weekend work according to business needs.
