Job Description

As a Remote Medical Records Clerk for our wellness center, you will be responsible for managing and organizing patient health information in an accurate and confidential manner. You will work remotely, ensuring the timely and secure handling of medical records, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting the smooth operation of our healthcare facility. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in medical terminology and record-keeping systems are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Retrieve, review, and accurately input patient information into electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Ensure the completeness, accuracy, and confidentiality of medical records.
  • Organize and maintain paper and electronic health records in accordance with HIPAA regulations and internal policies.
  • Process requests for medical records from healthcare providers, patients, and other authorized parties.
  • Assist in scanning and indexing of medical documents for easy retrieval and reference.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to verify and update patient information as needed.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities to maintain the integrity of medical records.
  • Provide administrative support to healthcare staff, such as scheduling appointments and answering inquiries related to medical records.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a medical records clerk or similar role in a healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while adhering to deadlines and quality standards.
  • Access to a secure and reliable internet connection for remote work.
