Job Description

Job Summary:

The Florida Conference of Seventh-day Adventists Human Resources Department is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Summer Intern to join our team for a 9-week internship. This seasonal opportunity provides hands-on experience in various aspects of human resources, including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and HR administration. The ideal candidate will gain practical HR knowledge while supporting the department’s daily operations.

Skills, Education, and Experience Required:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
  • Interest in working in a faith-based, mission-driven organization.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Previous experience in an office or HR setting is a plus.
    • Knowledge of HRIS systems or recruitment platforms is beneficial.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recruitment processes, including job postings, applicant tracking, and scheduling interviews.
  • Support onboarding activities such as preparing new hire documents and coordinating orientation.
  • Maintain and update employee records in compliance with HR policies.
  • Assist with special HR projects, including employee engagement initiatives and compliance audits.
  • Research HR best practices and trends to support department initiatives.
  • Provide administrative support, including data entry, filing, and responding to HR inquiries. Collaborate with the HR team to enhance HR processes and improve efficiency.
