Andrew Franz Architect, PLLC, is an award-winning boutique architectural and interior design studio based in New York City. The studio is currently seeking a full time Interior Designer with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience to work on high-end residential design projects in NYC, surrounding states, and Miami, in a casual but focused work environment.

The Interior Designer will have a passion for interior design and decorating, and a deep understanding of the interior design process, including colors and materials, vintage and bespoke furniture, and specifications as well as extensive knowledge of historical styles paired with local and international trends and sources. The Interior Designer will work alongside the principal and the architectural team to develop contextually- and historically appropriate interior design solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple interior design projects from start to completion
  • Design and oversee concept through furniture, lighting, and material finish selections
  • Create presentation boards, renderings, and mock-ups
  • Obtain quotes, purchase orders, and invoices
  • Maintain budgets and purchase registers
  • Write FFE specs
  • Coordinate with vendors, fabricators, and consultants effectively and efficiently, maintaining strong communication throughout the process to completion
  • Create and review CAD furniture plans and bespoke furniture drawings, etc.
  • Oversee shipping, storage, delivery, installation of items, and site visits

Requirements:

  • Interior design degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Significant high-end residential experience with contemporary, multi-cultural interiors that include vintage and period furnishings and details in contemporary contexts and spaces
  • Experience with custom-bespoke furniture
  • Excellent presentation skills and relationship building skills; ability to interact with clients and manage expectations
  • Proficiency with AutoCad, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Suite. SketchUp, 3DMax or Rhino a plus.
