Overview:
We are excited to invite a Commercial Insurance Underwriter to join our dynamic team! This remote position is ideal for candidates based in Florida, with consideration for applicants from surrounding Gulf and Eastern Seaboard states. You will play a key role in our underwriting operations, working collaboratively with the Underwriting Operations Manager to ensure exceptional service and accurate assessments of new business submissions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review initial information submitted by prospective insureds and agents to determine eligibility for coverage.
- Prepare quotes and maintain ongoing communication with prospective insureds and agents until policies are finalized or decisions are made to not proceed.
- Price and rate new submissions following established guidelines, collaborating with the Underwriting Operations Manager as needed.
- Build and nurture relationships with insureds and agents to foster trust and ensure outstanding customer service.
- Contribute to achieving production goals and maintaining high standards within the underwriting team.
- Monitor and support the duties of Underwriting Assistants, especially in reviewing endorsement requests and ensuring the accuracy of bind requests.
- Assist Renewal Underwriters with renewal evaluations, revisions, and processing bind requests.
- Perform a variety of administrative tasks to support the underwriting process.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in commercial insurance underwriting.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong attention to detail is essential.
- A college degree is preferred but not mandatory.
