Organization Description: The Putnam/Northern Westchester Women’s Resource Center (WRC) is a not for profit agency, that has been serving victims of domestic and sexual violence in Putnam and Northern Westchester NY for the last 45 years. The WRC provides free and confidential support and services to victims of violence, including but not limited to: advocacy, case management, trauma therapy, support groups, emergency shelter, housing assistance and counseling.

Position Available: Housing Case Manager

The Housing Case Manager position is a full-time (35 hour), non-exempt position. This role, at times, requires travel to surrounding counties.

Responsibilities include:

• Crisis intervention
• Safety Planning
• Counseling
• Crime victim compensation information and assistance
• Information and referral
• Accompaniment to related appointments if needed
• SOAR Certified (SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery) provides increased access to Social Security disability benefits.
• Completes weekly/monthly/quarterly/yearly reports and statistical data as required and maintains accurate record keeping in compliance with all licensing and contract agencies

Qualifications:

• Minimum High School Diploma/GED and relevant professional experience, BA/BS in relevant field preferred
• Spanish speaking preferred but not required
• Strong organizational, scheduling and time management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and successfully with teams and co-workers
• Able to travel locally
• Valid driver’s license
• An advocate for social justice and gender equality with a strong commitment to ending interpersonal violence
