Position : Traders Point Christian Schools is seeking candidates for a 5th & 6th grade Girl’s Basketball Assistant Coach.

About Traders Point:  Traders Point Christian Schools is a co-ed, Private, Preschool-12th grade school serving more than 600 students on the Northwest side of Indianapolis.

• IHSAA Member
• Grades 5-8 Sports compete in the IISL (Indianapolis Independent School League)

Girls Basketball Program: 5th & 6th grade girls; Winter sport 

Qualifications:  The ideal candidate should have previous Middle School, High School, or Collegiate coaching and/or playing experience in basketball, be passionate about building a strong program at all levels at TPCS, and possess the qualities of being inspirational, joyful, and relational.

General Responsibilities:

• Developing appropriate skill building opportunities for the developmental level
• Participating collegially in meetings and initiatives of the athletics department
• Taking an active role in the life of the school community, especially the co-curricular events of students
• Assisting the Head Coach with anything related to the basketball program
• Other duties as directed by the Athletic Director within the scope of experience and competence to complement the coaching role 

Qualifying Characteristics:  

• The assistant coach has a clear biblical testimony of salvation with an authentic and a mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ in both their professional and personal life with a calling and commitment to Christian education. 
• The ideal assistant coach must have the desire to work closely and nurture a positive relationship with students, teachers, parents, staff, school administrators, and community members. 
• The assistant coach must demonstrate respect for all students and community members. 
• The ability to exercise good judgment, set a good example, and comply with school standards is a must as well as the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential issues in a tactful and professional manner. 
• As an assistant coach at TPCS, you are expected to instruct and model important religious functions such as prayer. 
• At TPCS, your role as an assistant coach involves a pastoral element whereby through example, you are acting as a minister of our Christian faith. 
• You must be able to address concerns and offer suggestions in an appropriate and confidential manner.
