Job Description

NBX Cattle Dispatcher

The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating the utilization of cattle drivers to maximize productivity and ensure prompt, courteous and efficient service to all customers. The incumbent will work closely with the Regional Manager, Fleet Manager, Senior Dispatcher and operations personnel to help coordinate scheduling, manage communication, and dispatching of drivers to meet customer expectations. Responsible for managing a group of 17 cattle drivers while maintaining a high level of on time customer loading and delivery, overall customer service and supporting driver needs while directing their work.

Essential Job Responsibilities include:

● Responsible for all aspects of driver's success.

● Set driver schedules daily based on cattle needs.

● Communicate with drivers daily on their scheduled hauls.

● Take phone calls from customers and adjust schedules based on changing needs.

● Coordinate with fleet manager and shop manager on any breakdowns and to schedule assets for service.

● Accurately enter all loads into load database.

● Work with drivers to collect timely and accurate information on loads hauled.

● Troubleshooting logistic challenges.

● Promptly handling calls and requests from drivers, management, and customers throughout the duration of shift.

Requirements:

● Attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.

● Willingness to work a set schedule with on call availability

● Experience with Word, Excel, and willingness to learn Transportation Software

● 2-3 years of experience as a truck dispatcher in a similar industry (CDL preferred)

● Ability to monitor drivers' logs, truck maintenance schedules, and repairs.

● Knowledge of applicable transportation regulations and laws.

● Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
