The
Director of People & Operations is a trusted leader who oversees the health and function of our internal team. This person supports and manages department managers, drives HR and compliance processes, stewards internal communication, and champions people-first practices across the organization. The right candidate will balance people strategy with operational execution, helping shape a workplace that s both highly productive and deeply human. This is a full-time, on-site position located at our facility in Swannanoa, NC.

Responsibilities Team & People Leadership
- Manage and support department managers
- Lead daily and monthly management meetings
- Conduct monthly 1:1s with managers
- Plan and lead all-staff meetings, internal announcements, and newsletters
HR & Employee Lifecycle
- Own hiring pipeline: job postings, interviews, background checks, onboarding
- Oversee employee files, I-9s, job descriptions, contact info, and compliance docs
- Facilitate offboarding for voluntary and involuntary terminations
- Track employee retention and lead retention initiatives
- Handle progressive discipline documentation, incident reports, and policy enforcement
Operations & Administration
- Run weekly payroll and manage Gusto processes
- Approve/deny timesheets and time off requests for management
- Maintain the org chart and personnel files
- Oversee training tracking and development plans
Internal Communication & Culture
- Act as the communication bridge between customer service and internal departments for product or tech concerns
- Solicit and share feedback from monthly staff surveys
- Plan employee appreciation initiatives and gatherings
- Manage internal Teams channels and chat functionality
Policy & Compliance
- Maintain and update the employee handbook and policy documents
- Support management in setting and finalizing bonus goals
Qualifications - 5+ years experience in HR, Operations, or People leadership roles
- Strong interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution and decision-making skills
- High integrity, discretion, and emotional intelligence
- Comfort managing multiple priorities and wearing many hats
- Familiarity with employment law, compliance, and documentation best practices
Compensation & Benefits - Salary range: $70,000 $90,000 depending on experience

Requirements At least 5 years experience in HR, Operations, or Leadership Roles
At least 21 years old

Minimum High School Degree
