Job Description

The Children's Refugee Shelter, in association with Teneo Linguistics Company, seeks a dedicated Bilingual Youth Care Supervisor who is not just adept at their role, but embodies the spirit of care, guidance, and leadership. You'll play a crucial part in shaping our youth care environment, supervising a team of passionate workers, ensuring the well-being of the children, and enhancing the overall quality of care provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive directives and updates from the Youth Care Manager, ensuring a cohesive approach to childcare.
  • Supervise assigned on-site Youth Care Worker Staff, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to each member.
  • Maintain a detailed supervisory log for all staff supervised, ensuring that records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Oversee and ensure the appropriate line of sight supervision of children, promoting a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Complete required documentation, including daily reports, staff assessments, and any incident reports.
  • Foster and maintain a positive peer culture among the youth care staff, encouraging collaboration, knowledge sharing, and mutual respect.
  • Participate actively in ongoing meetings, conferences, and training programs, ensuring you're at the forefront of childcare best practices.
  • Handle unforeseen challenges and conflicts, employing problem-solving skills, and adapting as necessary.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in social work is preferred. However, 4-8 years of relevant work experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in childcare or direct care with youth.
  • At least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in youth care settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, lead, and handle diverse situations and teams.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the capacity to make decisions autonomously when required.
  • Bilingual proficiency, especially in Spanish.

Benefits

  • Lead a team in one of the most purposeful and impactful environments, dedicated to nurturing and supporting refugee children.
  • Be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking organization that prioritizes the well-being and growth of its staff and children alike.
  • Continuous opportunities for professional development, training, and advancement.
  • Engage in work that not only sharpens your leadership skills but also resonates with profound meaning.

As a Bilingual Youth Care Supervisor, your influence extends beyond the walls of the Children's Refugee Shelter. Every directive you give, every training you conduct, and every child you impact contributes to a broader vision of hope, growth, and transformation. Join us, and shape the future, one child and one team member at a time.
