We are seeking qualified candidates to join our team in the role of Mortgage Loan Underwriter. As an integral part of our growing organization, the Mortgage Loan Underwriter will review mortgage applications and assess the credit, income, asset, and collateral documentation to ensure compliance with agency and investor standards. We are looking for detail-oriented and motivated individuals who can make informed decisions that facilitate successful homeownership.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze loan files to ensure they meet program requirements, including assessment of Credit, Capacity, Capital, Collateral, and supporting documentation.
- Evaluate loan risks and calculate them accordingly.
- Identify and request necessary documentation to complete loan files.
- Clear outstanding conditions to proceed with loan approval or denial.
Qualifications:
- Detail-oriented with a strong attention to accuracy.
- Team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to guidelines.
- Familiarity with Ellie Mae Encompass is preferred.
- Experience in a multi-investor environment is advantageous.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Encompass.
- Experience with 203K Loans preferred.
- At least 3 years of residential mortgage underwriting experience.
- Proficiency in underwriting VA loans.
- Familiarity with Fannie Mae Desktop Underwriter and Freddie Mac Loan Prospector.
- Knowledge of FNMA and FHLMC policies and guidelines.
- Working knowledge of fraud detection tools.

This is a full-time position with standard hours from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. We offer competitive compensation starting at $70,000 per year, along with comprehensive benefits including Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and generous PTO and sick leave.
