Today we are hiring a 100% Remote Transmission Planning Engineer -Mid Level.
We are seeking a Mid-level Transmission Planning Engineer for multiple office locations with remote work options available. Candidates can indicate their preferred location in the application.
**Must have USA TPE industry work experience within USA, preferably Texas** USA EXPERIENCE ONLY**
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead network studies for utilities and ISOs
- Interface with engineers to prepare computer-based models.
- Conduct various power system studies: feasibility, system impact, reactive compensation, stability, planning, short circuit, load flow, interconnection, and power factor correction.
- Engage in proposal writing and customer interactions to develop new opportunities.
Required Education/Experience:
- BSEE degree.
- 5+ years in transmission planning system studies.
- Must be able to lead system impact studies.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- 3+ years with PSS/E.- Project leadership and mentoring experience.
- Familiarity with Texas ERCOT interconnection processes.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
Desired Education/Experience:
- MSEE or PhD.
- 5+ years with PSS/E.- 7-10 years in transmission planning studies.
- PE registration or equivalent.
Experience with additional software:
PSLF, TARA, PSCAD, Aspen Oneliner, ETAP, Power World.
- Coding and automation skills.
