The Procurement Specialist is responsible for the direct purchasing of raw materials and services (steel and related materials, as well as shipping/freight) necessary to manufacture and ship final products for Warrior Mfg., a leading designer/fabricator of structural support systems and material handling equipment for a variety of industries. The Procurement Specialist is responsible for overseeing all aspects of material procurement and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
• Negotiate pricing with vendors, securing the best pricing for the best product value
• Evaluate available supply channels to increase product value and reduce production cost
• Analyze and assess demand for production projects
• Read and understand vendor contracts, bid documents, specifications, spreadsheets, shop drawings, and blueprints for materials and services
• Track inventory and monitor inventory levels
• Monitor storage of raw materials for manufacturing
• Process purchase orders and related tasks
• Manage purchasing, procurement, and vendors
• Prioritize workload
• Develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures
• Proficient use of Made2Manage, MS Office, inventory management programs, and ERP system
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Motivate others to work as a team
• Skillfully communicate verbally and in writing, paying attention to detail
• Perform other tasks as directed by your supervisor
