Job Description

Do you enjoy teaching and working with children? Do you enjoy sports, fitness, and personal nutrition / health? If so, we encourage you to apply for our Youth Coach position with Amazing Athletes of Knoxville! We also just opened and so you will get the chance to be a part of a brand-new company and team.

We are currently looking for Amazing coaches who can work a part time schedule (8-15 hours / week) in the mornings from 8:30-11:30am (M-F) and/or the afternoons from 1-5:30 pm (M-F).

Purpose / Mission

Amazing Athletes is a youth sports enrichment program that focuses on teaching kids ages 18 months to 12 years old the basics of 10 different sports and activities (Baseball, Basketball, Football, Golf, Hockey, Lacrosse, Soccer, Tennis, Track and Field, Volleyball, and many more) with an introduction to nutrition, muscle identification, and development of key motors skills.

We will provide you excellent training while you start and through each weekly curriculum. You need to have a passion for working with youth.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Learning each week’s lesson plans and in a positive high energy environment, teach the basics of different sports, activities, nutritional information, muscle identification, and basic motor development skills to kids ages 18 months to 12 years
  • Interacting with parents, teachers, directors, and children on a daily basis and being able to articulate class description
  • Tracking attendance, keeping records of child progress, and maintaining positive relationships with everyone
  • Have TONs of fun and ensure the safety of all participants
  • Coaches will travel throughout the Maryville or Knoxville area to different childcare centers, preschools, and public / private schools to lead classes
  • This is a Part-Time position. Must have availability 8:30-11:30 am (M-F) and/or 1-5:30 pm (M-F).
  • Reliability and Consistency is a Must as we are working with young children. Candidates need to be self-motivated and be able to work independently.

Requirements

  • Passion for making a difference in children’s lives
  • Outgoing, fun, and energetic personality
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel to local schools with your own reliable transportation
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
  • Candidates must be able to stand, bend down, and move for extended periods of time, often outdoors. Must be able to pull / carry up to 25 lbs.

Not Required but a Plus:

  • Background in fitness a plus (athletics, sports, dance, cheer, gymnastics, martial arts, exercise science, kinesiology, physical education, etc.)
  • Background working with children (camp counselor, elementary education, substitute teacher, coach, etc.)
