About the Position
As a Web Designer, you'll play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining dynamic web applications that deliver exceptional user experiences. You'll work closely with our creative and project management teams to bring ideas to life, from developing custom WordPress sites to integrating third-party services. Whether it's building a responsive site from scratch, optimizing performance, or troubleshooting technical issues, your work will help shape the digital presence of our clients. In this role, you'll balance technical proficiency with creative collaboration to deliver high-quality web solutions on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
WordPress Development
· Develop, customize, and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins.
· Integrate third-party plugins and APIs to enhance website functionality.
· Optimize websites for performance, speed, and SEO best practices.
· Ensure websites are fully responsive and function smoothly across all devices and browsers.
· Implement and uphold accessibility standards to ensure compliance.
· Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, security issues, and other WordPress-related challenges.
Web Design
· Collaborate with designers to develop visually compelling and user-friendly websites.
· Create and implement sitemaps, wireframes, and mockups using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
· Translate design mockups into fully functional websites with a focus on clean, efficient code.
· Continuously refine user interfaces and improve user experience.
Client Communication
· Present website concepts and project proposals clearly to clients.
· Translate technical jargon into easily understandable information for non-technical clients.
· Gather and understand client requirements and feedback to guide development.
· Maintain strong, ongoing relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and project success.
Project Management
· Manage timelines, deliverables, and project scope to meet deadlines.
· Collaborate effectively with internal teams, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
· Track project progress and adjust as necessary to deliver high-quality results.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
· Proven experience in WordPress development, including custom theme and plugin development.
· Proficiency in PHP, SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
· Experience with web design best practices, including responsive and mobile-first development.
· Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
· Familiarity with integrating third-party APIs and web services.
· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
· Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical clients.
· Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
