Summary/Objective: The Vacuum Truck Operator will perform a wide range of physical activities that require strength and flexibility of whole body for handling, positioning, moving, and manipulating equipment and materials and vacuum truck operations. The Vacuum Operator/CDL Driver will be responsible for driving and operating efficiently and safely all power equipment and vehicles in accordance with DOT laws and regulations.
Responsibilities: - Operate and set up all necessary equipment in accordance with operation training and guidelines and safety procedures.
- Adhere to all safety policies and practices, including but not limited to personal protective gear.
- Ability to work safely in and around heavy machinery in loud, hazardous, and industrial settings.
- Manually clean, install, fit repair valves, caps, hoses, pumps, gaskets, and all other external and internal equipment.
- Assist in general maintenance of company equipment, service, grease, etc.
- Wash and clean company equipment – Pressure wash, clean cabs, etc.
- General housekeeping – sweeping floors, taking out trash, and helping keep work areas clean and organized.
- Help with future job load outs or unloads from previous jobs – Return equipment and PPE back to designated areas.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 years’ experience behind an 18-wheeler.
- Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License. (CDL)
- Must possess a Medical Examiner’s Certificate or be able to obtain one.
- Must be capable of passing a personal background screen.
- Must be capable of passing an MVR background screen.
- Commercial Driver - Pneumatic / Vacuum Operator run under the FMCSA 70-hour rule.
- Must be able to travel for extended periods of time.
- Willing to respond to emergency calls 24 hours, 7 days a week as needed.
- Willing to perform all required job duties in accordance with training.
- Willing to perform all required job duties in accordance with standard operating procedures. (SOP)
- Willing to understand and follow all given directions.
Physical Requirements:
- Physically capable of performing all duties and responsibilities assigned.
- Physically capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Physically capable of standing and/or walking continuously for long periods of time.
- Physically capable of climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, and kneeling as needed.
- Physically capable of working in all inclement weather conditions.
