Job Description

DIRECT HIRE: An amazing opportunity for an experienced Underground Drilling Foreman in the Bethesda, MD. area. The successful candidate would oversee a team of 5 Laborers and an Operator in a tunneling/mining environment. 

Pay: $52hr. + OT
Schedule: Mondays - Fridays (some Saturdays)
Reports to: Underground Superintendent 

Role & Responsibilities: 

• Must be knowledgeable in underground drilling equipment, installation of rock anchors, installation of underground steel support
• Oversee the setup and operation of mining equipment and machinery
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of mining personnel, including shotcrete, drill, shoot, and concrete operations
• Provide training and guidance to staff on proper equipment use and safety procedures
• Plan and schedule daily operations for shotcrete, drilling, shooting, and concrete tasks.
• Monitor and inspect work sites to ensure compliance with operational standards and OSHA regulations.
• Hand shotcrete nozzlemen experience is required
• Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
• Implement corrective actions as needed to address safety issues 
• Maintain accurate records of operational activities, including daily logs, safety reports, and equipment maintenance.
• Report any incidents, accidents, or equipment malfunctions to management promptly.
• Ensure that shotcrete, drill, shoot, and concrete operations meet quality standards and specifications.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of Underground Drilling Foreman experience 
• ACI Certification is required
• Shotcrete Association Nozzleman certification 
• OSHA30 preferred
• Certified, or capable welder
• Manlift operator certification 
• Must be able to pass a respirator fit test
