Job Title: Translator/Interpreter
Job Type: Part-Time
Location: Washington, DC

Qualifications:

• U.S. citizenship, by birth or naturalization.
• Fluency and high proficiency in English and other languages, including formal, casual, colloquial, and slang communication.
• Minimum of three years of professional experience as a translator/interpreter.
• Certification in the relevant language(s) from recognized institutions (e.g., Defense Language Institute, Foreign Service Institute).
• Proven ability to accurately translate and interpret complex technical conversations and documents.
• Experience with transcription, translation, and interpretation software and tools.

Duties:

• Translate written materials from English to other languages and vice versa, ensuring accuracy and cultural relevance.
• Provide on-site, remote, or hybrid interpretation services, including Simultaneous, Consecutive, Escort, and Community interpreting.
• Interpret oral communication in real-time during meetings, conferences, or other events.
• Deliver mission-related data, perform data analysis of translated materials, and prepare related reports and assessments.
• Ensure all translations and interpretations are factually accurate, without omissions or additions, and reflect the style, register, and cultural context of the source language.
• Work with sensitive and confidential information while adhering to ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality.
• Collaborate with team members and clients to ensure the delivery of high-quality services within required deadlines.
