Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Summer 2025 Legal Intern in our Reston, VA location with occasional telework/remote work allowed.

The position reports directly to our Deputy General Counsel, Business Operations. Under direct supervision the ideal candidate will work with the Legal team on a variety of matters, including government contracting, investigations, litigation, and compliance.

Primary areas of responsibility include:

• Conduct legal research on a variety of topics, including the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
• Review and analyze contracts, agreements, licenses and proposals
• Support litigation activities, including discovery, subpoena responses and briefing
• Support internal investigations and compliance reviews
• Draft legal memos, briefings and communications
• Participate in company meetings and business activities

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 0-2 years' of experience
• Be actively pursuing a Juris Doctor (JD) program in good standing at an accredited law school
• Strong legal research, analytical and writing skills, with an attention to detail and ability to think critically
• Proficiency in M/S Office Suite, including Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
• US Citizenship

Desired Qualifications:

• GPA of 3.3 or higher
• Interest in in house practice and government contracting
• Previous legal internship or prior work experience in the legal field

Target Salary Range

The rate / range per hour below represents the typical pay for this position based on experience and other factors.
