**Overview** GovCIO is currently hiring a talented and experienced Database Engineer to focus on designing, implementing, andoptimizingSQL server and database solutions to support Veterans Affairs operational needs. This positionleadsdatabase architecture, resolvesadvanced issues, and drivesperformance enhancements. This position will be fully remotelocatedwithin the United States. **Responsibilities** + Designsand implementsdatabase structures that fit with current and future needs of the organization. + Managesdatabase security by setting up user roles and permissions. + Createsbackup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability. + Monitorsdatabase performance andoptimizesdatabase structures for faster data access. + Troubleshootsand resolvesdatabase issues and errors. **Qualifications** **Required Skills and Experience:** + Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology,engineeringor a related field with 12years of relevant experience. + Strong knowledge of relational database theory and SQL. + Experience in developing andmaintaininglow-code automation tools (such as SharePoint, PowerBI, Jira/Confluence, and others). + Expertisein designing andoptimizingdata structures for storage, retrieval, and analysis. + Ability to write efficient and optimized SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data. + Demonstrated experience managing SQL/Oracle or other data management systems.  + Demonstrated experience configuring/integrating platform or application API's. + Proven ability to quickly learn, adapt, and effectively apply new tools and technologies. + Strong problem-solving skills, with a self-motivated and customer-focused approach. + Excellent communication skills, capable of working directly with stakeholders and team members. + Ability to handle projects independently, from requirement gathering to solution delivery. + Facilitate API design decisions in consideration with: + On-premises orcloud-basedinfrastructure + Datasets requirements + Security protocols need to be implemented + Functionalities based on the architectural style(s) or pattern(s) to be employed **Preferred Skills and Experience:** + Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools. + Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate). **Clearance R** **equired:** + Ability to obtain andmaintaina suitability/Public Trust **Company Overview** GovCIO is a team of transformers--people who are passionate about transforming government IT. Posted Pay Range The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process.
