Job Description

Scope of Position

EDF Renewables Distributed Solutions, Inc. seeks temporary Solar Construction Site Assistants in Vandalia, MO ; Bowling Green, MO ; Ravenswood, WV ; and Pontiac City/Livingston County, Illinois . These are full-time contract positions through the Company's partnering temporary employment agency. The positions are anticipated to be up to one year in duration and are based daily at an active solar construction site. Applicants must reside within a daily commutable distance of the project site.

Working Conditions: Approximately 90% of time is spent in a field construction environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs and Procore), phones, and general office equipment. Approximately 10% of time is spent in a field construction trailer/office.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the lead Superintendent, the Site Assistant will assist in day-to-day construction operations including, but not limited to:
  • Monitor, report, and document safety functions.
  • Monitor and enforce sign-in functions.
  • Monitor, report, and document quality control inspections.
  • Complete daily reporting in Teams and Procure.
  • Track and report material deliveries.
  • Inspect soil erosion and sediment control measures.
  • Monitor and direct construction traffic.
  • Maintain site conditions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Typically requires:
  • HS Diploma.
  • Four-year technical or business college degree preferred.
  • Three to five years construction experience.
Requires knowledge of:
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with construction activity, field quality control, and safety guidelines .
  • Driven to solve problems and accomplish tasks assigned.
  • Demonstrated interest in pursuing work in renewable energy as a career.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
  • Procore experience (preferred but not required).
  • Valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for long periods in a construction site environment. Ability to traverse entire construction project site with varying terrain and weather conditions.
