Job Description

This is a full-time, in-office position and will require event attendance and travel within Greater Palm Springs. Remote applications will not be considered.

Palm Springs Life is seeking a detail-oriented, creative, and organized Social Media Coordinator to support our social media presence across multiple platforms and accounts, including Palm Springs Life magazine, Fashion Week El Paseo, Palm Desert Food & Wine, and select client campaigns. This full-time, in-office position requires regular event attendance and occasional travel within the Coachella Valley.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong grasp of social media platforms, analytics, and scheduling tools — and a love for writing sharp, on-brand captions in AP style. You’ll be responsible for content coordination, scheduling, reporting, and caption creation across editorial and paid campaigns, working closely with the editorial and marketing teams to ensure our content remains timely, engaging, and aligned with our voice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and schedule content across social media platforms using tools like Sprout Social or Later
  • Write engaging, voice-aligned captions following AP style and our internal copy style guide.
  • Assist in planning and publishing content for editorial initiatives, events, client posts, and internal promotions (e.g., merchandise, subscriptions, branded events)
  • Implement and manage “enter to win” social media programs
  • Attend select photo shoots and events to gather exclusive content and live post to Instagram stories
  • Collaborate with editors, designers, and marketing team members to ensure accurate and timely rollout of content
  • Set up and manage paid social media campaigns under the direction of senior team members
  • Monitor performance and compile analytics reports monthly to help guide future strategies
  • Stay up to date on trends, platform updates, and best practices to keep content fresh and relevant
Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of professional experience managing or coordinating social media for a brand, publication, or agency
  • Working knowledge of Meta Business Suite, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and X, including insights and ad tools
  • Familiarity with scheduling and analytics platforms (e.g., Sprout Social, Later, or similar)
  • Solid understanding of KPIs and the ability to generate clear performance reports.
  • Excellent writing and copyediting skills (AP style proficiency preferred)
  • Organized, efficient, and deadline-oriented.
  • Eye for visuals and a strong sense of what performs on social.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field preferred
Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with WordPress and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere)
  • Experience working across multiple brands or client accounts.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and how social media contributes to digital visibility.
