PTW is a leading AAA gaming services company ramping up a new local game studio in North Charleston, South Carolina. We specialize in providing comprehensive quality assurance, playtesting, and localization services to top-tier video game developers and publishers worldwide. We are in searching for 50-100 Video Game Testers for our new Gaming studio in North Charleston, South Carolina, this is an in-studio based position, no remote work will be considered, only local candidates in North Charleston, SC or local candidates in the U.S that are willing to relocate will be considered. No visa sponsorship will be provided.

Job Description: PTW is seeking many highly experienced and skilled Contract Senior Video Game Testers to join our team and support a major client in the gaming industry in N. Charleston, SC. As a Senior Video Game Tester, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our client's video game titles across various platforms. This is an in-studio position, and the ideal candidate will have extensive experience in video game quality assurance, with a deep understanding of industry standards and best practices.

This is a long-term contract position with opportunities to get converted into full-time with growth opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and mentor a team of video game testers at all levels, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure high-quality testing results.
  2. Collaborate closely with project managers, leads, and stakeholders to develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and testing strategies tailored to the client's requirements and objectives.
  3. Conduct thorough testing of video game titles across multiple platforms, including PC, console, and mobile devices, to identify and report defects, glitches, and other issues.
  4. Coordinate and prioritize testing activities to meet project deadlines and milestones, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality testing results.
  5. Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new video game testers as the workforce scales from 50 to 100 employees.
  6. Maintain clear and detailed documentation of testing processes, procedures, and results, including test plans, test matrices, and bug reports.
  7. Communicate effectively with project stakeholders to provide regular updates on testing progress, identify risks and issues, and propose solutions and recommendations.
  8. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in video game quality assurance, and share knowledge and insights with the team to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  1. High School Diploma/GED or some college education
  2. 3-5 years of experience in video game quality assurance, with a strong understanding of QA principles, methodologies, and processes.
  3. Proven experience testing video game titles across multiple platforms, including PC, console, and mobile devices.
  4. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively mentor and manage a team of testers.
  5. Proficiency in using industry-standard testing tools and software, such as bug tracking systems, test management tools, and version control systems.
  6. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and prioritize testing activities based on project requirements and objectives.
  7. Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities, with a proactive and positive attitude towards challenges and opportunities.
  8. Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of gaming mechanics, genres, and platforms.
