Title: Senior GL Accountant (Hybrid)

Location: Palo Alto, CA

Duration 3 Months

Preferred candidates are from PST (Bay Area), and sometimes may need to work with the India team so the candidate should be open to attending the meeting by late hours (around 8-9 PM PST or early in the morning).

Hybrid Schedule

Preferred to go onsite at least 1 time a week

Highly preferred to be a local

  • Execute the monthly commission accounting process, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations related to commission accruals and payments
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of commission expenses in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Reconcile commission payments and ensure discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly
  • Cash and other GL Accounting tasks
  • Work closely with sales, finance, payroll and business IT teams to ensure alignment on commission policies and procedures
  • Support internal and external audits related to commission accounting
  • NetSuite experience required
  • Experience with Xactly is a plus
  • Proficiency with ASC 606 Sales Commission accounting
  • Excellent organization skills and proven track record of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment required.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, specifically with extracting, formatting, validating, and analyzing complex data sets.
  • Reliable team player with strong attention to detail
  • 35 years of relevant public accounting and/or industry experience
  • Chartered Accountant / CPA is a plus
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience working in U.S. GAAP
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Expected Overtime to be worked to close our month-end tasks
  • Has good hands-on experience with commission accounting and payroll (60% commission accounting, 30% payroll and the remaining 10% would be taxes investment and other accounting works)
  • Using Xactly for commission accounting and NetSuite Payroll accounting, so the candidate with Xactly is highly preferred but not required
  • The candidate would have 3-5 years of experience, someone over 5+ years of experience would be fine too but, the candidate with less than 3 years' experience won't fly.
  • The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in accounting or business, CPA is a plus
  • The interview process would be like 1st round with the Manager and the final round would be a panel interview with the team for 30-40 minutes (Video interview).
