Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to support the Defense Logistics Agency Information Operations (J6) DLA Research & Development (R&D) as a member of a dynamic and multi-functional team. The successful candidate will have an understanding of and experience in research and development processes of the Department of Defense and/or Federal Government.



Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for analyzing cyber security requirements, technologies, risks, or issues. Participates in design of solutions, defenses, or mitigation approaches.
  • Provides an independent assessment overview of the implementation policy and procedures, provides analysis of security vulnerabilities identifying recommendations.
  • Provides support to all Incident Response and Risk and Vulnerability Assessment areas.
  • Assesses technology, conducts market research, reviews research and developments proposals , drafts and implements project plans, supports acquisitions, tracks and reports financial information, and critically evaluate qualitative and quantitative data to assess progress and results
  • Identifies and addressed vulnerabilities in computer systems
  • Runs diagnostic tests and analyze data to spot threats to computer systems
  • Develops firewalls and other security measures to safeguard systems
  • Makes recommendations regarding software and hardware that can strengthen information storage and security records
  • Stays up to date on the newest viruses and malware being used by cybercriminals
  • Aids in the development and implementation of best practices that employees can follow to reduce the risk of data theft
  • Installs and maintains antivirus software and systems
  • Responds to data threats to limit data loss and retakes control of the system
  • Writes reports outlining the findings of diagnostic tests and explaining the events of cyber-attacks when they occur

Requirements:

  • A Master's degree with 7 years' experience.
  • 7 years of experience with DLA R&D or DOD supply chain management and Cybersecurity.
  • Must possess a current CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification
  • CE Certification for applicable cloud or be capable of obtaining certification at time of award.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must possess IT-II security clearance or have a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC).
  • Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT Level II
  • This role is restricted to U.S. person(s) (ie., U.S. citizens, permanent residents and other protected individuals under the immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))

Desired Skills:

  • Write clearly and present complex information with precision and concision. Must demonstrate basic skill and knowledge on utilization of Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Office suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

Location:

  • HYBRID: 2-5 days per month in the office at the Defense Logistics Agency Headquarters Office (8725 John J Kingman Rd, Fort Belvoir, VA 22060).
