What You Can Expect

As our Senior AWS Data Engineer in Houston, Texas, you will work with Data Analysts to ensure enterprise data is cataloged in accordance with data governance standards through design, development and maintaining data solutions leveraging the power and flexibility of AWS. Every day, you will report to the IT Director of Cloud Solutions to provide technical expertise to the business and internal IT staff facilitating business expansion with solutions to scale, along with managing the critical input and output of data.

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in information technology, systems and application development in a professional work setting; in lieu of a four-year degree, you should bring a total of a minimum of seven (7) years of experience which you have gained an understanding of Data Engineering and Data Visualization to provide technical expertise to the business and stakeholders
  • A minimum of an AWS Certified Data Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect- Associate certification
  • In-depth knowledge of digital platforms such as AWS, Dataiku and Databricks
  • Proficient with Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Previous experience developing, testing, and deploying data pipelines, data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts using AWS services such as S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, EMR, Kinesis, and Lambda
  • Proven experience implementing data ingestion, processing, transformation, and delivery using various methods such as batch, streaming, and real-time
  • Ability to design and build scalable data architectures on AWS, with strong experience using AWS data storage and processing services such as S3, EMR, Data Lake Formation, AWS Glue, and Amazon Athena
  • Knowledgeable with DevOps tools and methodologies such as Git, Jenkins, Docker, or Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of ETL tools and frameworks such as Apache Spark, Airflow, AWS IoT Analytics, IoT Device Management, and AWS IoT Events
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, SQL, Spark, and Unix shell scripting, including AWS CLI

Compensation

Salary Range: $96,100 - $147,660 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
