At Sabour Beauty, we believe that healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp. We’re looking for a shampoo assistant to join our team and help us provide our clients with the best possible experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in hair and beauty, and a willingness to learn. He or she will be responsible for shampooing and rinsing clients’ hair, as well as providing scalp massages. The shampoo assistant will also be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the shampoo area.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the stylist in providing excellent customer service by greeting and seating guests in a timely manner
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift
• Help maintain the cleanliness of the salon by sweeping up hair after each guest
• Stock shampoo bowls with fresh towels and supplies before each guest arrives
• Help guests get comfortable in the shampoo chair
• Apply pre-shampoo treatments to guests’ hair as directed
• Massage guests’ scalps during shampooing to relax them and promote circulation
• Rinse guests’ hair thoroughly and apply conditioner as directed
• Help style guests’ hair after shampooing and conditioning as directed
• Upsell salon products and services to guests
• Check out guests and schedule future appointments as needed

Requirements and skills

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Cosmetology student preferred or previous experience in a salon
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Comfortable working in close proximity to others
• Excellent communication skills
• A positive, professional attitude
• A willingness to learn
