This role provides long-term, on-site construction safety leadership for a mechanical contractor supporting a large-scale data center build in Lebanon, Indiana. The Safety Manager will serve as a project safety lead, partnering closely with field leadership to ensure safe execution of mechanical scopes, regulatory compliance, and proactive hazard mitigation in a fast-paced, high-profile data center environment.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Provide observe-and-report safety oversight across active mechanical construction operations
• Lead, review, and enforce Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and task planning processes
• Conduct routine and formal safety audits with documented follow-up
• Assist with incident and accident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Partner with project and field leadership to address safety trends and risk exposure
• Support site compliance with OSHA standards and client-specific safety requirements
• Serve as the on-site safety lead, promoting accountability and continuous improvement
• Minimum 3+ years of construction safety experience
• Strong mechanical construction safety background required
• Demonstrated project lead or site lead safety experience
• Data center construction experience is a significant plus
• Detail-oriented with the ability to operate independently in a high-output environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage field crews and leadership
• 3+ years of experience in construction safety management roles
• Mechanical contractor safety experience required
• CHST or any BCSP certification is a strong plus
• Proficient in safety documentation, audits, and reporting
• Comfortable supporting digital safety systems and reporting tools
• Ability to adapt quickly to client-specific platforms and processes
