Project Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled RPA Developer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in delivering an Automation Services Platform . This platform will streamline and automate the processing of Veterans benefits across multiple business lines within the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), as well as other VA entities (e.g., VHA, NCA, BVA) and select federal agencies.

This is a multi-year, enterprise-level transformation initiative designed to deliver scalable, unattended automation solutions. The platform must be flexible and configurable to support ongoing development and integration of new benefits automation, replacing and expanding upon the capabilities provided by the existing Mail Automation Services (MAS) and Additional Presumptive Capacity Automation Services (APCAS).

Responsibilities:

• Support the design, development, and deployment of automation workflows for processing Veterans benefits.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, document, and refine automation requirements.
• Ensure the platform integrates seamlessly with VA and third-party systems through APIs and user interfaces.
• Leverage a diverse technology stack to deliver solutions using unattended automation.
• Enable transformation through iterative delivery of automation ("automations") that improve business efficiency and service to Veterans.
• Adapt the platform to align with the VA's evolving IT architecture, including migration to API-based services.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with RPA tools such as UiPath, Blue Prism, or Automation Anywhere.
• 8+ years of professional IT experience.
• 2+ years of experience in AI, automation, analytics, or digital transformation projects.
• Proven expertise in Business Process Reengineering (BPR) for IT systems.
• Familiarity with emerging technologies including:
  • Optical and Intelligent Character Recognition (OCR/ICR)
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP)
  • Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
  • Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)
  • Neural Networks
  • Medical Annotation
• Experience managing and exchanging structured and unstructured data (e.g., images, voice, text).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with U.S. federal, state, or local government clients.
• Broad understanding of the general technology ecosystem, including:
  • Network requirements
  • Event monitoring systems
  • Ticketing and integration frameworks
