REPORTS TO: Club Food & Beverage Manager.

POSITION STATUS: Seasonal.

HOURS PER WEEK: 30 to 40.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:


As a Restaurant Assistant, you are responsible for aiding in the seating of our guests, setting and clearing dining tables, stocking service stations, and transporting all food products from the kitchen to the guest while continuing in the hotel's effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.


What will I be doing?

As a Restaurant Assistant, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Greet guests warmly, using their names whenever possible, and ascertain their dining needs.
  • Seat guests and manage the seating chart.
  • Monitor restaurant activity to determine seating and dining flow.
  • Respond to guest requests promptly and efficiently, ensuring a personalized and attentive service experience.
  • Demonstrate a genuine sense of interest in guests' needs, providing expert recommendations and creating a memorable dining experience.
  • Set and prepare tables for dining, including, but not limited to, folding napkins, cleaning and placing tableware, serving water, etc.
  • Ensure tableware is in good and working condition and report any defects for repair
  • Stock, maintain and clean designated food station(s).
  • Assist food server(s) with table service, including, but not limited to, serving beverages, breads, etc.
  • Retrieve and transport dirty tableware to dishwashing area.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.
  • Transport food items to and from the kitchen.
  • Check, maintain and control inventory of food items.
  • Perform general cleaning to maintain cleanliness of work area.
  • Put away food stock and dry goods according to established standards.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Minimum one-year previous experience at a restaurant or service related industry.
  • A passion for providing exceptional service, with the ability to engage with guests in a refined and professional manner.
  • Strong customer service skills, including the ability to anticipate and fulfill guest needs with a genuine sense of interest.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining impeccable attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team player mentality.
  • Must possess a valid Food Handler Card and Alcohol Awareness Training (e.g., TIPS).
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
