Job Description

The Mellon College of Science (MCS) is home to four departments and many programs and research centers that cross disciplines. We approach scientific problems from fresh angles using creative interdisciplinary approaches while drawing on our departmental strengths in the core sciences. MCS faculty members are nationally and internationally recognized for their research in a variety of fields, including polymer science, cosmology, mathematical finance and neuroscience.

The Department of Biological Sciences within the Mellon College of Science is seeking a temporary part time Research Assistant to work in the laboratory of Dr. En Cai. This position is 20 hours per week. The research group of Dr. En Cai is mainly focused on using advanced microscopy to study immune cell activities.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Follows research plans to collect, record and manipulate research.
  • Cleans and maintains equipment and glassware.
  • Organize and coordinate lab functions and facilities.
  • Performs specific lab duties as required by the lab.

Qualifications:

  • High School or GED, Associate's degree. Bachelor's preferred.
  • 1 to 2 years of laboratory experience.

  • Fixed Term: This is a fixed term position with an estimated duration of 2 months.
