Job Description

The Arc of Central Alabama, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, is seeking a motivated and experienced Recruiter to join our team. This full-time position will be based in both Oneonta and Birmingham and will play a crucial role in recruiting and hiring qualified candidates for various roles within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize various recruiting methods to attract and source potential candidates for open positions, with a focus on recruiting Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and other key roles.
  • Become an expert on our Applicant Tracking System, utilizing features to it's fullest potential to drive candidates and make a high volume of placements.
  • Screen resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates.
  • Schedule and conduct telephone screenings with candidates to assess job suitability.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Partner with hiring managers on hiring decisions and protocols.
  • Make job offers and negotiate salary and benefits packages.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the Applicant Tracking System.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and HR team to develop effective recruitment strategies.
  • Attend job fairs and other recruitment events to promote the organization and attract potential candidates.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in recruitment and hiring processes.
  • Successfully meet Key Performance Indicators on response rates, phone screenings, interviews, and placements week over week. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in recruitment, preferably in a non-profit or healthcare setting.
  • Experience using an Applicant Tracking System is required.
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment strategies and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Passion for the mission and values of Arc of Central Alabama.

Working Conditions:

  • The Recruiter will primarily work at a desk.
  • This position is based mainly in Oneonta, with occasional work in Birmingham a couple of days a week.
  • The recruiter will spend most of his/her time on the phone calling and screening applicants.
  • May have to lift up to 50 pounds when attending recruitment events.
  • Occasional local travel to career fairs.
