Job Description
The Arc of Central Alabama, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, is seeking a motivated and experienced Recruiter to join our team. This full-time position will be based in both Oneonta and Birmingham and will play a crucial role in recruiting and hiring qualified candidates for various roles within our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize various recruiting methods to attract and source potential candidates for open positions, with a focus on recruiting Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and other key roles.
- Become an expert on our Applicant Tracking System, utilizing features to it's fullest potential to drive candidates and make a high volume of placements.
- Screen resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates.
- Schedule and conduct telephone screenings with candidates to assess job suitability.
- Coordinate and schedule interviews with candidates and hiring managers.
- Partner with hiring managers on hiring decisions and protocols.
- Make job offers and negotiate salary and benefits packages.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the Applicant Tracking System.
- Collaborate with hiring managers and HR team to develop effective recruitment strategies.
- Attend job fairs and other recruitment events to promote the organization and attract potential candidates.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in recruitment and hiring processes.
- Successfully meet Key Performance Indicators on response rates, phone screenings, interviews, and placements week over week.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in recruitment, preferably in a non-profit or healthcare setting.
- Experience using an Applicant Tracking System is required.
- Strong knowledge of recruitment strategies and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Passion for the mission and values of Arc of Central Alabama.
Working Conditions:
- The Recruiter will primarily work at a desk.
- This position is based mainly in Oneonta, with occasional work in Birmingham a couple of days a week.
- The recruiter will spend most of his/her time on the phone calling and screening applicants.
- May have to lift up to 50 pounds when attending recruitment events.
- Occasional local travel to career fairs.
