Job Description

LaBella is excited to be on the lookout for a talented Project Level Environmental Scientist, Geologist, or Engineer to join our Daphne, AL office! We are looking for an energetic individual with an entrepreneurial mindset to become part of our enthusiastic team, tackling exciting multi-phase projects that are both technically challenging and impactful. In this role, the successful candidate will oversee a range of environmental initiatives, including Brownfield/Voluntary Clean-up Program sites, RCRA sites, Landfill Sites, and Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing and analyzing field and lab data, preparing proposals, and creating assessment and clean-up work plans and reports while supervising contractors and drillers as needed. Fieldwork, such as groundwater and soil sampling, will also be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, this position will involve contributing to business growth through development efforts in the Mobile Bay area.

 

This role has the potential to grow into a managerial role, that includes training, development and mentoring of coworkers.

Requirements

  • Manage multiple on-going and short duration projects, from preliminary investigation through remediation O&M for multiple projects.
  • Perform and / or supervise field activities and drilling on environmental projects.
  • Prepare and track budgets, prepare proposals, work plans, and reports.
  • Data presentation, map creation, and report preparation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and local and state regulators.
  • Participate in facility meetings with clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
  • Assist with business development in the Mobile Bay area of Alabama
  • Prepare deliverables on time and within budget.
  • Maintain open communication with project team members.
  • Performing field work primarily throughout Lower Alabama.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner and in line with firm's core values.
  • Conduct work to professional standards and following firm's QA/QC policy.

Required Education & Qualifications:

· B.S. degree in environmental engineering, geology, environmental science, or related field.

· 5 to 10 years of experience in the environmental consulting field.

· Licensed professional engineer or geologist preferred.

· 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred but not required.

· Possess a high capacity for self-motivation and be able to apply knowledge to a high variety of projects.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environmental consulting team environment.

· Ability to work within a multi-disciplined group of professionals.

· Strong communication skills (active listening, written, and verbal).

· Organized with strong attention to detail.

· Highly motivated, with excellent client service skills and a positive attitude.

· Strong problem-solving skills.

· Experience working directly with clients.

· Must be able to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and staff from various agencies.

· Valid AL driver’s license, lean driving record, and reliable transportation.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
