Summer Intern: 2024 (Job will last 6-8 weeks)
Product Development Intern
Hours: M-F 8:30-5:30 (1 hour lunch break)
Skills learned / tasks:
- Inventory Management
- How to run a fabric design library
- Archival systems administration
- Labelling of Products
- Pattern Naming
- Learning about fabric producers all over the world and their capabilities
- Design Styles for archival purposes
- Sustainability
- Copyrights learning
- Overlocking
- Fabric ID’ing
- Presentation layouts for design morning meetings
- Key thing they will be working on is inventory management-They will be itemizing all inventory from every mill in the fabric library room.
Additional Shared tasks:
- Salesforce computer program
- Incoming Mail delivery and sorting
- Testing-how to test for different end uses and why we test for each
- Fabric Sample Labeling
- Design collection rotations, why we curtate certain trending colors and products
- Trend board input for presentations
- Organizational skills-Putting collections together with the team
- Helping organize files for custom projects and product development team
- Retuning, organizing and labeling library samples
- Special projects with Print cloths or Blackout cloths.
- Printing sample photos for textile binders
- Assisting with other projects assigned by manager.
