About the Owner & The Opportunity:
You will work directly with the owner a published author and historian. This role is a unique blend of culinary artistry and hands-on farm work continuing a family legacy of conservation and high-end hospitality that dates back to the late 1800s. In this quiet professional and intellectually stimulating environment you will become the cornerstone of our hospitality preparing meals from ingredients you help raise and overseeing the propertys needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Private Chef:
Create and prepare daily farm-to-table meals for the owner accommodating his non-traditional writers schedule. 5 day work week
Plan and execute menus for exclusive events including multi-day Quail Hunts (December-March) and literary gatherings for high-net-worth guests.
Specialize in preparing the farms own USDA-inspected Black Angus beef game birds and produce from the on-site garden and orchard.
Provide discreet and professional service during private dinners and gatherings.
Homestead Assistant:
Dedicate one day a week to hands-on farm work including assisting with the garden livestock and general estate maintenance.
Act as the responsible caretaker for the farm when the owner is traveling overseeing the property cattle and a kennel of ten English Setters.
The Ideal Candidate:
A seasoned culinary professional with a degree
Strong background and references
Self-reliant individual who thrives in an independent rural setting.
Capable of performing various farm-related tasks.
Compensation & Lifestyle:
Salary: $80000 annually with performance-based bonuses.
Housing: Private rent-free accommodation provided on the farm in a modern cottage suitable for one person.
