As a Prescriber Medical Administrative Assistant (Medical Assistant) , you'll be an essential part of our clinical support team. Your responsibilities will range from providing prescriber and site support, managing patient calls, and managing appointment scheduling, to assisting in telehealth troubleshooting and administrative tasks for providers. You'll play a key role in coordinating patient care, handling prescription authorizations, and contributing to our commitment to excellent customer service. This position offers a diverse set of challenges and opportunities for professional growth in a dynamic, patient centered environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate care between patients and providers.
  • Schedule patient appointments and obtain prior authorizations.
  • Collect copays and call in prescriptions to the pharmacy as needed.
  • Manage medication authorizations and maintain a medication logbook.
  • Download prescription monitoring reports daily for review.
  • Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries with professionalism and accuracy.
  • Guide patients through telehealth appointment troubleshooting.
  • Assist providers with administrative tasks and support clinicians in managing waitlists.
  • Train new team members and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • CPR certification, or willingness to become certified through an accredited program.
  • Experience in insurance verification, preauthorization, and scheduling for multiple providers.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems, medical terminology, and basic clinical pharmacology.
  • Preferred experience in a medical office or call center setting.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and multiline phone systems.
  • Patient-focused with strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work well in a team, especially in high-stress situations.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a desire to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred experience working with patients suffering from anxiety and depression.
