Description We are looking for a dedicated Payroll Administrator to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has experience managing payroll processes. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, proactive, and capable of handling weekly payroll operations efficiently while collaborating with a remote payroll manager. The salary range for this position is $60,000-$75,000 plus bonus, and it comes with benefits, including medical, vision, dental, life, and disability insurance. To apply to this hybrid role please send your resume to tiana.gjeldum@roberthalf.c0m Responsibilities: - Process full-cycle payroll for a multi-state workforce, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. - Manage weekly payroll operations for 101-500 employees, including union filings and related documentation. - Monitor and reconcile timesheets, ensuring proper job costing and allocation of labor expenses. - Utilize Sage 300 software to manage payroll functions and assist in transitioning to new payroll systems. - Collaborate with the remote payroll manager to streamline processes and address payroll-related inquiries. - Handle payroll adjustments, deductions, and benefits administration with precision and timeliness. - Prepare and submit reports related to payroll taxes, employee benefits, and other compliance requirements. - Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure adherence to all relevant labor laws and company policies. - Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of payroll operations. Requirements - A minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll administration, preferably in construction or engineering industries. - Proficiency in using payroll systems such as Sage 300, UKG Pro, or UKG Ready. - Strong understanding of job costing, timesheet management, and multi-state payroll processes. - Experience with union payroll and filings is highly preferred. - Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle the stress of weekly payroll deadlines. - Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with remote team members. - Background in accounting or finance is a plus, though not required. - Hands-on attitude with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
