Part-Time Accountant

20–25 hours per week | Flexible Schedule | In-Office Required Initially

Location: Omaha, NE (In-office presence required to start; hybrid schedule may be considered based on qualifications and business needs)

Farris Engineering is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Accountant to support our internal financial operations. This role is ideal for experienced accounting professionals or graduate-level students looking to apply their skills in a professional services environment, particularly within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (A/E/C) industry.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and enter month-end journal entries , including accruals and adjusting entries
• Print and audit monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Assist with external audit support , including documentation and data gathering
• Perform ad hoc accounting tasks and provide general support to the Controller
• Contribute to the month-end close process and maintain compliance with internal financial procedures

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship is required ; non-U.S. citizens are not eligible for this position
• Bachelor’s degree (or actively pursuing a degree) in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications is required
• Familiarity with the A/E/C industry strongly preferred
• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint is a significant advantage, though not required
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting workflows
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
• CPA certification is a plus but not required
