Position Overview and Responsibilities:
This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a challenging and rewarding position as a non-resident OPS Park Attendant at one of Florida’s most dynamic state parks. The selected employee will be immersed in the operation of Manatee Springs State Park.

Responsible for greeting visitors at the park entrance and providing information pertaining to the park and park activities involving canoeing and kayaking, swimming and picnicking. Informing visitors of the park rules and providing directions. Collect fees for park entrance and annual passes. Operate a point-of-sale cash register; accurately collect, record and reconcile revenue collected.
Maintain an organized workspace, answer phones and operate radio equipment. Complete and reconcile receipts and reports.
Cleaning of the inside of the ranger station, including the staff restroom.
VISITOR SERVICES/VISITOR EDUCATION - Explains facilities and services provided for public use, enjoyment and education; meets visitors, answers questions, provides information and directions. Attempts to resolve visitor complaints while maintaining good public relations.
MAINTENANCE -Maintains cleanliness of grounds, parking areas, facilities and restrooms.

Position of Special Trust Requirement:
This position is designated as a Position of Special Trust in accordance with DEP Directive 422, Positions of Special Trust or Responsibility. Successful completion of background screening will be required for this position.

People have enjoyed the cool waters of Manatee Springs for more than 10,000 years, from early Paleo Indians to modern park visitors. The first-magnitude spring releases an astounding 100 millions gallons of water daily. This makes is a popular cooling-off spot and a great place to stroll on the park boardwalk and gaze into watery depths.
