Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with fellow PE teaching colleagues to plan and implement curriculum for daily physical education instruction for students in 5th through 9th grade.
• Be well versed in health instruction and understand best practices in health education.
• Utilizes effective classroom management strategies and skills
• Effectively differentiate instruction to meet the various needs of students, including whole group, small group, and individualized instruction
• Create a sense of community and belonging among students where each individual student is celebrated for his or her identity and strengths 
• Provide students with specific, actionable feedback and appropriate assessment
• Communicate with parents proactively, positively, and professionally to support the academic, social-emotional, and physical needs of students
• Actively engage in the school’s process of process growth and development
• Support our athletic department by coaching during at least two seasons 
• Perform other duties to support the division and/or school as a whole

Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in physical education, education or appropriate degree (advanced degree preferred)
• Experience in teaching physical education
• Athletic coaching experience preferred
