Job Summary

T he Industrial Mechanical Technician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment within an industrial facility. This role supports equipment reliability through scheduled and emergency maintenance, working in a team-oriented environment to ensure the continuous operation of production systems. The technician will collaborate with other departments to design plant modifications, improve equipment reliability, and support the Preventive Maintenance and Mechanical Integrity programs.

 

Job Description

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks and emergency repairs on mechanical equipment, including pumps, gearboxes, agitators, mechanical seals, drive couplings, and related machinery.
  • Demonstrate a team-oriented approach to work, interacting effectively with colleagues in the maintenance, engineering, and production teams.
  • Support the maintenance of equipment reliability by troubleshooting, analyzing issues, and providing recommendations for improvements to maintenance supervision.
  • Assist in designing modifications to plant equipment and systems to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Support the Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Mechanical Integrity Programs to ensure operational equipment meets reliability standards.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times, adhering to all safety regulations and company corporate procedures. Participate in safety meetings and demonstrate safe work practices.
  • Perform crane-assisted tasks and work at elevated heights as necessary.
  • Utilize shop equipment, including band saws, drill presses, grinders, and power hand tools, for repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Work with maintenance supervision and other personnel to improve overall plant operations and address production demands.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support for emergency maintenance needs, including after-hours, weekends, and overtime when required.
  • Maintain effective verbal and written communication skills, documenting all maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties and ensure proper use of tools and equipment

 

Skills Required

  • Proficient in computer skills, including basic software applications for reporting and documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and demonstrate willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to safely work in potentially hazardous environments, including confined spaces and elevated heights.
  • Basic knowledge of welding, pipe fabrication, and rigging.
  • Familiarity with industrial machinery and systems, including pumps, gearboxes, and mechanical seals.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.

 

Education/Certification/Training

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related industrial maintenance experience.

 

Pay Rate

  • $35 per hour
