Job Summary
CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking an entry level Mechanical Engineer in our Lexington, KY office. This position will work with a team of engineers to design energy efficient buildings for various clients for CMTA. The successful candidate is a self-motivated individual that thrives on helping clients and has the technical background to be involved in and lead all phases of our work.
The entry-level engineer works closely with the project manager to assist and support them. Below are some of the duties this position includes.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare, read, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
  • Interact with owners, clients, architects, and contractors as needed with verbal and written communication
  • Evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks
  • Confer with other engineers and other personnel to complete project deadlines
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles and research, design, and evaluate products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements
  • Design and specify system components to ensure conformance with project goals and requirements
  • Produce high level contract documents using Revit
  • Review contractor submittals (shop drawings, etc) to determine conformance with contract documents
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field
  • Experience with a consulting engineering firm is preferred
Desired Skills:

  • Construction or engineering experience preferred
  • Experience with Revit/Computer Drafting
  • FE Registration with potential for PE
