GENERAL SUMMARY

Lead room attendant is responsible for inspecting and overseeing the work activities of hotel room/laundry attendants to ensures PCCH standards of excellence is met. Preforms all duties of the rooms/laundry attendant. Responsible for Team Member training, inter-department communication, and monitoring of all aspects of Room Attendant activity to ensure the highest quality of cleanliness and service. The Lead Room Attendant will promote an atmosphere that ensures Potawatomi Carter Casino Hotel's general expectations. This position requires strong attention to detail, leadership skills, and the ability to effectively work with management, guests, and Team Members.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform all duties of a hotel room/laundry attendant.
  • Inspects guest rooms, laundry area and storage rooms to ensure that standards of cleanliness are met, including additional cleaning and repairs.
  • Work closely with the hotel front desk for guest requests and check in/out status
  • Work closely with the maintenance department related to room maintenance, work orders and repair needs.
  • Responsible for training and re-training all room/laundry attendants.
  • Continually works with hotel housekeeping Team Members with intent to improve performance, team work, and efficiency.
  • Ensures all housekeeping procedures are followed correctly
  • Monitors and reports to hotel management any concerns related to team member performance. Recommend commendations as warranted.
  • Monitors for and report to hotel management any concerns related to guests and the facility
  • Evaluate the efficiency of housekeeping processes and recommend areas for improvement. Assist with establishing new processes to provide guests with the highest quality of service.
  • Is responsible for reporting and assisting with disposal of damaged items.
  • Responsible for completing weekly/monthly/annual inventories related to the hotel guest rooms and laundry such as cleaning products, bedding, amenities, etc.
  • Responsible for requesting supplies in a timely manner to ensure items availability for rooms and laundry
  • Ensure that expenses are kept within budgeted guidelines, through monitoring of staff productivity, handling and usage of supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure proper use of chemicals related to the job.
  • Completes inspections and reports for possible infestations and illegal substances
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings, i.e., rooms, departmental, company, etc.
  • Report all information, in verbal or written form to hotel management.
  • Be responsible for proper quality control and daily monitoring of hotel housekeeping.
  • Assist with timely and fair performance appraisals of all room/laundry attendants.
  • Assist with event center set up and linens as needed
  • Assist guests, Team Members and other departments as necessary to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Know, understand, and follow all company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Participate in special projects and all other duties as requested by Hotel management.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year verifiable supervisory training or experience is required
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Basic computer experience preferred
  • Must be a self-starter, and be self-motivated with the ability to make sound judgments and solve problems
  • Ability to uphold complete confidentiality is required
  • Must display professionalism when representing PCCH and the Hotel
  • Must work well with people, and possess excellent guest service skills and sensitivity to diverse cultures
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to maintain accuracy is required
  • Ability to direct multiple projects at one time
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in stressful situations is necessary
  • Must be available to work long hours and flexible schedules when needed
  • Must be willing and able to attend/travel to training, seminars and meetings, as requested, both on- and off‑site, including possible attendance during unscheduled hours.
