Title: Jr. Designer,  Wave Media Agency

Reporting to: Director, Brand & Content Design

Classification: Contractor

Location: ** Remote

Compensation: $4,500 / month

WSE’s award-winning, original programming is led by some of the most popular athletes and personalities in sports media -- including the hit digital series’ “New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce,” “Podcast P with Paul George,” “7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony and The Kid Mero” and “The Right Time with Bomani Jones” -- dishing out entertaining commentary, unique perspectives, expert analysis, and behind-the-scenes stories about the players and events that are shaping the world of sports. WSE also holds partnerships with 100+ rights holders and sports properties, providing always-on programming to followers of the internet's largest and most engaged social communities. WSE recently created a division, Wave Media Agency, which specializes in working with professional leagues & rights-holders from around the world to enable them to expand their social & digital presence.

Wave Media Agency is seeking a Jr. Designer to work with a multitude of clients. This person will have the opportunity to assist in defining, evolving and maintaining our clients’ visual identities across Youtube and social media. The candidate will have experience using essential design software like Photoshop and Illustrator, and be excited to dive into additional programs like After Effects and InDesign. A strong sense for branding and a passion for digital media is crucial.

 

Responsibilities

• Create graphics, templates, and collect assets for our multitude of clients
• Assist in developing branding and other key assets, as well as strategizing and executing redesigns for existing ones
• Build out libraries of cutouts, backdrops, textures, and general assets
• Maintain an organized archive of all created assets by following company folder structure protocols
• 4+ YouTube Thumbnails per week
• 10+ Social thumbnails per week
• Full show design assets for weekly YouTube episodes
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in graphic design
• Experience working across different social media platforms
• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator (knowledge of After Effects a plus)
• Demonstrate a core understanding of social media specs & creative considerations
• A strong portfolio demonstrating skill in composition, typography, layout
• Willing to think against the grain and find disruptive solutions to emerging challenges
• Ability to take direction and an eagerness to learn and contribute

Work Location

**If this contract is categorized as a Remote opportunity above, we may support remote work for contractors who reside in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, DC, Florida, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi,  New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas.
